I think that children and adults learn best when they are given word pictures or stories to which they can relate. If a child needs to learn how to share, for example, a parent or teacher can read a book which has a character in it who learns to share. The child sees how the character learns to share and then they begin to apply the concept to their life.
If a husband doesn't understand why a wife always wants a tidy house, she might explain to him how embarrassed she was as a child when she brought friends over to a filthy childhood home. Relating behaviors to stories or experiences aids in understanding.
I love hearing from my readers! As more Bubba Bear books are written, I will be covering more skills for Bubba to learn. If you have a particular skill, value, concept or character trait you would like your child to learn, please let me know! There might just be a book written about it.
Check back here often! I'll have guests who will share valuable tips for teaching and parenting children!
